Yesterday I sent in my first contribution to the Herman Cain campaign. I think I have become a “Cainiac“. I’ve been watching this man for a couple of months. Each time I see him I feel more and more comfortable with him. He and his message resonates with me. He, of all the announced Republican candidates, is the one person who I feel I could have sit in my living room and talk back and forth about issues that everyday people, especially small business owners, face. Talk is cheap for most politicians. It is the primary tool of the politician. Cain is different. Not only can he talk, he can walk the talk. He knows middle America probably better than any other candidate on the scene. No government experience? That’s what they said about Ronald Reagan in 1966 when he ran for governor of California. Not so bad for an “amateur” as they called him then. Well the presidency is certainly a larger seat to fill than the governorship of California but look what we’ve got now.
